It is our vision that all Western Australians have access to the arts and cultural infrastructure.
The arts are practised and valued in our complex and diverse society, as important outlets for the communication of ideas, feelings, beliefs; and as major sources of intellectual, physical, spiritual and emotional development, understanding and enjoyment.
Research indicates that people, whether young or old, who take part in community arts, find new ways to deal with challenges, develop a sense of belonging and improve their mental and physical health.
Through our Community Enhancement Programs, the Foundation seeks to:
• Develop young Australian artists;
• Create exceptional new performing arts collaborations;
• Inspire future generations with education and outreach programs;
• Commission new works and innovative initiatives; and
• Take Western Australia’s unique performing arts programs to the global stage.
Because of our beliefs surrounding the value of arts on community health, all financial support raised through the Foundation’s partnerships, sponsorships, philanthropy and special events, is applied to underwrite a range of community service artistic programs including:
• Morning Melodies – mid-morning events to enhance social fabric;
• MajKidz – a unique and successful interactive club for children with a genuine interest in live theatre and the performing arts in general; and
• The Brainbox Project – is a creative initiative of His Majesty's Theatre, focused on the development and production of new concepts and professional productions for intimate theatre and cabaret.
